Take your first steps in VR and get to know your controllers in this short experience that showcases the power of Oculus.

Curriculum
 

Basics

​

Experience: Tutorial

VR Type: Room scale walking/teleporting.

Time: 15:00 minutes

Repeatability: Some

Recommended Ages: 13 + or E for Everyone The only consideration is the use of space themed shooting/blasters. 

Save Function: Unable to pause, rewind or fast-forward. As a tutorial you can start over. 

Warnings:

There is one sub game experience where you shoot pyramids, stars, and cubes with a space blaster inside a space themed hanger bay. The third of the three space blasters is an automatic. This may or may not be appropriate in specific educational settings.

Description

Guided tour: Step by step introduction to your Quest controllers using three main introductory areas.

1. Standing at a table you play with cubes, rockets, ping pong paddles etc. 

2. Dance with a robot. (My favorite part!) It brings out your inner child.

3. Blast moving 3D objects in a space hanger.

VR Highlights

​

While First Steps was not very different from the HTC Vive's introductory experience - popping balloons and such - I was very impressed with the variety of toys presented to first time users.

​

Dancing with the robot was amazing! This experience brings pure joy to almost everyone I meet!
